About Me…
Art has always been at the core of who I am. Born and raised in the mountains of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, I grew up surrounded by family, creativity, and a strong sense of place. I studied at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I earned a degree in Interior Architecture and Design—an experience that shaped my understanding of space, composition, and color. Today, I work as a mixed-media artist, wedding photographer, and creative entrepreneur, balancing fine art with community, storytelling, and mentorship. My work is a reflection of where I come from, what I carry, and the conversations I hope to spark through art.
My paintings are reflections of how I experience the world—layered, expressive, and rooted in emotion, culture, and identity. I’m drawn to moments both powerful and quiet, using color, texture, and movement to tell stories that honor resilience, history, and individuality. Through abstracted figures, florals, and symbolic elements like the headwrap, my work celebrates beauty born from transformation. I hope each piece invites the viewer to feel something deeply, the same way I do while creating it.
My process is intuitive and immersive. It is often driven by music, instinct, and physical movement. Music plays a huge role in my creative flow, often setting the rhythm and emotional tone of a piece. Paint is layered, scraped, pushed, and pulled as I work, allowing emotion to lead the way rather than strict plans. I’m inspired by bold color relationships, textured surfaces, and the freedom to let a painting evolve organically. There’s something powerful about trusting the process and allowing imperfection to become part of the story.
